Mighty Quinn

In the Lead?

In what is a strangely sourced column, David Seifman of the New York Post quotes "one insider" as saying that if the vote were held today, that Speaker candidate Quinn would win.

How's that for news?

But, that one insider does caution that a lot could still happen between now and January 4th. (The other candidates must be relieved.)

That same insider asserts that while de Blasio has amassed the most commitments from his colleagues, that he doesn't have nearly enough to win.

You read it here first, people. Straight to you from the Post on this merry Christmas and Hannukah day.

Like it or not she is the best candidate. She should win. Its time white males give the shot to any other minority. Are lesbians minorty in NYC? are women?

Besides lets be honest:

1. Comrie - Nice guy, couldnt organize a sock draw.

2. Joel - Yea, like a bunch of 30, 40 and 50 year olds are gonna take direction from Doogie Howser.

3. Weprin - another nice guy, too much family history, makes him look like a political legacy. Like Flounder from movie Animal House.

4. Fidler - Is Flounder from Animal House.

5. DiBlasio - a great guy. Im sure Doyle from REBNY would be thrilled to have 32BJ running the city council. Show of hands How many people really want Dennis Rivera with MORE power? As for the committments, Paul Castellano had the committment of the family too. Anyone been to Sparks Steakhouse lately?

6. Katz - Most qualified from an intelligence angle. City Council is not filled with intelligent people. In fact, most of these folks hated the bright kid in school. They took their lunch money, beat them up and never invited them to parties. Melinda is the bright person and she aint getting invited to this party either. Good news for her: she can collect milk money from land use.

Quinn: Wins if homophobia doesnt run rampant and and kill millions........its worse that Bird Flu

My money is on Quinn.....Then again, I have still have a pet rock.

Unless Seifman's been talking to Tom Manton, then the story is BS. As goes Manton, so goes the Council.

Melinda did not come across all that brilliantly at the Baruch forum.

I was surprised...even though I had long since concluded that she is in the pocket of the real estate industry, I still thought highly of her abilities as a prospective political leader.

...not anymore.
