NO, You Show Me The Money!
So Says Speaker Quinn
Hmmmm .... forget what we said the other day. Quinn just wants more money - period.
No mention of givebacks, no mention of Council Members paying for more of their healthcare coverage, no mention of pension adjustments or agreement to work additional hours, and no mind the working New Yorkers who have seen little to no quality of life improvements over the past decade.
Quinn wants a raise for Council Members and apparently, that's that!

Well... I don't know if Councilmembers COULD put in additional hours. As a local political activist, I think they work unbelievably hard, whether I agree with all their actions is a different matter. I also think that due to the hard work of local politicians and residents, the quality of life in NY over the past decade has increased TREMENDOUSLY.

if you don't understand campaign accounts and where the money can and cannot be used (or else risk the wrath of the strict as hell CFB), then don't say something like that.

What about the article that stated how many Council Members don't even get to the Council/committtee meetings? What do folks think about that?
